We're looking for an Test Automation Engineer who is passionate about the quality of work they produce as well as embarking on new technologies. Our software development team is responsible for developing networking and cybersecurity products and services for a diverse customer base that includes commercial, government, and Department of Defense. They work in an Agile Scrum framework with a CI / CD pipeline. As a test automation engineer, you will work in collaborative environment with multidisciplinary team. You will focus on ensuring high software quality by designing, developing automated test and tools, supporting automated verification of requirements for our products and application, integration, support testing events, and script and perform regressions testing using CI/CD tools. Our products interfaces using networking protocols, experience, interest, and desire to work on network-based product is a huge plus. Additional Information: This position is located onsite. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility. Requirements

  • Education: Completion of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or related field
  • Experience: This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience
  • Citizenship: This position requires U.S. citizenship
  • Additional: Active United States Secret Clearance
  • Experience with developing software using Python, Java, or similar
  • Experience designing and/or developing test procedures from requirements specifications
  • Web testing automation experience using a framework such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, or similar
  • Experience with or desire to learn Linux
  • Clear communication and good teamwork skills
  • Good software design, decision-making, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  • Up to 10% domestic travel

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of networking protocols and TCP/IP network fundamentals
  • Experience using containers
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as git
  • Experience with requirements management platforms such as Jama
  • Experience with API Testing toolsa
  • Experience with performance testing tools, load runner
