At Houston Methodist, the Software Architect position is responsible for application architecture and system integrity for the assigned area. The Software Architect collaborates with the Managers, Operational Leaders, and Project Managers to coordinate application design, development, and support activities to comply with the architectural plan and the division's strategy. The Software Architect is responsible for the creation and management of workflows, application security, testing, installation processes, reviewing and roadmapping assigned applications/upgrades, and ensuring timely and expert decision making for systems as it aligns with organizational goals. Responsible for setting software development standards across the applicable programming languages, testing, application security, SQL development, and merging development and operations. Other responsibilities include creating new features, technical documents and reference manuals for best practices and design standardization. The Software Architect provides technical direction and serves as a mentor to staff to ensure complexities of the application(s) and workflows are understood and followed. Partners with management to provide technical advice and translates requirements for statements of work and also provides technical oversight for consulting engagements.
