At Slalom, personal connection meets global scale. Our vision is to enable a world in which everyone loves their work and life. We help organizations of all kinds redefine what's possible, give shape to the future-and get there. Within Slalom, our Build capability helps customers maximize the value of the software they create. We do this by being fast, effective, high-quality, and consistent, evolving our software development lifecycle by blending cutting-edge AI tooling with outcome-focused strategic thinking, and delivering end-to-end to our customers at any scale and at any point in their journey. You will be an architect within the Build capability, owning the architecture of the products we build for our customers and redefining our AI-empowered software development lifecycle (SDLC). You'll co-create the flows, patterns, guardrails, and tools that make AI a first-class citizen across design, build, test, release, and operations-so we ship delightful, reliable products faster. And lead teams driving the adoption of AI engineering practices.

  • Redefine the AI-empowered SDLC: Co-design the flows, patterns, guardrails, and tooling that make AI integral from ideation through operations-planning, design, code, test, release, and run.
  • Co-create playbooks & platforms: Turn experiments into repeatable practices-prompt libraries, context packs, evaluation harnesses, code-gen scaffolds, review bots, and CI/CD hooks.
  • Build with prompt & context engineering: Apply prompt engineering and context engineering to make LLMs accurate, reliable, and cost-aware.
  • Orchestrate AI workflows: Design and ship LLM orchestration for product features and developer workflows; instrument telemetry, evals, and safety from day one.
  • Lead architecture, stay hands-on: Own product architecture (APIs, data, reliability, security). Write code where it counts.
  • Partner and enable: Run design sessions, demos, and enablement with customers; translate complex AI concepts into clear business value.
  • Mentor & uplevel: Coach engineers on system design, AI-accelerated development, and modern delivery.
  • 5+ years building and operating production software; led architecture for a meaningful product or platform.
  • Deep familiarity with microservices, API design, eventing, data stores, reliability, security, and cloud primitives.
  • Daily driver of AI coding tools; opinionated about prompts, review workflows, and when to trust vs. verify generated code.
  • Experience shipping LLM-powered features (prompt design, evals, token/cost hygiene, telemetry).
  • Proficiency in languages common to our stack (e.g., TypeScript/Node, Python, Java) and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React/Next).
  • Hands-on with AWS/Azure/GCP, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD, IaC, and production observability.
  • Ability to translate between executives, customers, and engineers; write crisp docs, clear diagrams, and run compelling demos.
  • Model evaluations, safety/ethics, red-teaming, drift monitoring, feature stores.
  • Experience with embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval strategies.
  • Familiarity with LangChain/LlamaIndex, OpenAI/Anthropic/Google model APIs, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Backstage/IDP.
  • Open-source contributions, talks, or writing on AI-accelerated engineering.
  • Meaningful time off and paid holidays.
  • Parental leave.
  • 401(k) with a match.
  • Highly subsidized health, dental, & vision coverage.
  • Adoption and fertility assistance.
  • Short/long-term disability.
  • Yearly $350 reimbursement account for well-being-related expenses.
  • Discounted home, auto, and pet insurance.
