About The Position

The Software Applications Developer IV at Texas A&M University System is responsible for providing technical support for the design, implementation, coding, testing, review, and documentation of the university's Ellucian Banner Student Information System and the uPortal web portal. This role involves leading technical initiatives, developing specifications, and ensuring the effective functioning of enterprise applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight years of software applications developer experience, including three years with ERPs such as Ellucian Banner and one year with Banner student information systems or uPortal framework.
  • Experience with Javascript frameworks such as Angular 2+.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the enterprise's lead technical liaison to clients, vendors, and executive management.
  • Develop specifications based on customer input requirements and convert them into thorough design documents.
  • Write, update, maintain, test, and rewrite complex computer programs, websites, and web applications that interact with databases.
  • Provide technical support for the planning and maintenance of applications in an enterprise information system environment.
  • Monitor and manage the development of enterprise infrastructure systems.
  • Consult and assist with resolving complex performance problems and application outages in the development environment.
  • Coordinate the technical activities of a small project team and assist other employees in resolving various issues.
  • Participate in planning, direction, and coordination of operational and procedural matters to meet goals and produce reports for management.
  • Establish standards and processes for reviewing and analyzing software documentation and production results.
  • Participate in training and professional development sessions.
