About The Position

The Software and Simulation Solutions Engineer at Koerber Supply Chain is responsible for extending the capabilities of existing products and developing new solutions to enhance growth. This role involves designing system-level PC-based machine controls for Material Handling Automation, evaluating new technologies, and creating software solutions and simulations to meet customer needs. The engineer will also develop prototypes, participate in customer demonstrations, and ensure quality execution during deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation.
• Experience with object-oriented programming and software design in C#.
• Experience programming Demo3D simulations or other industrial automation simulation tools.
• Experience in product logistics (parcel industry or related).
• Experience with the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using OOD methodology.
• Experience developing software/systems from functional requirements.
• Experience with multithreaded application development.

Responsibilities

• Extend capabilities of existing Körber products and develop new capabilities.
• Design and plan system-level PC-based machine controls for Material Handling Automation solutions.
• Evaluate and develop new technologies and creative product innovations driven by customer applications.
• Design system-level software solutions, product simulations, and emulation controls tests.
• Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and test methods to demonstrate performance requirements are met.
• Participate in customer demonstrations.
• Develop system requirement and functional specification documents for handoff to engineering and operations teams.
• Provide oversight through first deployment to ensure quality execution of intended design.
