About The Position

The Behavioral and Social Sciences Division has openings to teach in-person and hybrid sections of Sociology at Jefferson Community and Technical College on the Downtown and Southwest campuses.

Requirements

• Must have 18 graduate hours in Sociology (SOC)
• Must have a Master's degree or a Master's degree in Sociology

Nice To Haves

• Exhibit digital literacy
• Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Blackboard
• Good attendance record
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and student engagement
• Ability to work effectively in an academic environment making frequent contact with students, faculty, staff, and the public

Responsibilities

• Teach courses (SOC101; Introduction to Sociology: 3 Credit hours)
• Maintain office hours
• Participate in student success activities
• Utilize a learning management system such as Blackboard
• Conduct classes that may meet once or twice a week for approximately 90 minutes ranging from 9am to 8pm
