Under the general supervision of the Director of Pupil Services, the Social Worker provides students, parents, administrators, and other teaching staff with individually-tailored advice and consultation to overcome personal, emotional, familial, or social issues to maximize the students' learning experience. The position involves conducting assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations of students to identify learning or social interaction issues, recommending courses of action, and performing casework services with students and parents to encourage understanding and participation in overcoming social issues. The Social Worker also assists in implementing behavior management plans, coordinates with outside agencies, and serves as a resource for counseling to promote personal growth and behavioral management.
