About The Position

At New Story Schools, we serve students ages 5–21 with autism and emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Guided by individualized learning, therapeutic integration, and collaboration, we empower students to grow and prepare for meaningful adult lives. As the School Social Worker at New Story Schools, you will provide direct and consultative services that support students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth. Your work strengthens student well-being, supports IEP goals, and builds connections between families, schools, and community resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field with enrollment in an MSW program or completed MSW
• Must be licensed in Pennsylvania as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• At least two years of experience in a school setting, including internships
• Knowledge of special education regulations, MTSS, and child welfare systems
• Strong clinical documentation, communication, and case management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and classroom-based social emotional learning supports
• Assess student needs and implement evidence-based counseling interventions
• Collaborate with families, school teams, and outside providers to support student success
• Contribute to IEP development, progress monitoring, and multidisciplinary meetings
• Connect students and families to community resources and mental health supports
