About The Position

This temporary position is located at 2577 W 5th Street, Greenville - Pitt County, with the Department of Health & Human Services. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $26.46 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or Master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable knowledge of a wide range of behavioral, and/or psychosocial problems and their treatment theory.
  • Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques, governmental and private organizations, and resources in the community.
  • Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework and group work.
  • Skill in establishing rapport with the client and/or family and in applying techniques or assessing psychosocial aspects of clients’ problems.

Responsibilities

  • Determining Medicaid eligibility.
  • Assisting with completing Medicaid applications, Medicaid enrollment, discharge planning, case management, psychoeducational education groups, documentation, and monitoring of patients in milieu and safety.
