About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the installation clinical social worker at the 509th Bomb Wing for True North. This role involves being a member of the True North embedded behavioral health team, directly supporting the Line of the Air Force (LAF) with the goal of building resiliency, enhancing human performance, and improving unit mission effectiveness. The position provides a full range of professional social work services within operational Air Force (AF) units, with clinical oversight of True North embedded social work that emphasizes education and prevention, psychosocial assessment and diagnosis, and evidenced-based intervention and treatment.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently.
  • Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within the past two years.
  • Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must meet all applicable credentialing requirements IAW local military treatment facility guidelines.

  • Experience providing guidance and consultation services to medical professionals and military leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, maintains, implements, and evaluates True North embedded mental health clinical social work service programs.
  • Conducts intake evaluations and psycho-diagnostic assessments.
  • Provides evidence-based psychotherapy.
  • Provides psychological consultation, education, and training to other mental health professionals, medical staff, military commanders/senior leaders, and other DoD and civilian providers.
  • Observes and participates in wing staff and tenant unit activities to identify psychosocial stressors and barriers to optimal human performance.
