About The Position

Basic Functions: Non-Exempt. The main responsibility of providing professional social work services to students and families. Providing psychological evaluation assessments and financial management, welfare finance services, referrals for medical/psychological services, and housing. Also provides Adult Protective investigation for the elderly and vulnerable adults for the Colville Reservation; and to perform related work as required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, or a related field, which includes two (2) years social work experience
  • Or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the Behavioral Sciences, or related field and five (5) years of social work experience working with elderly and/or disabled individuals. Transcripts required at time of application.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and to be eligible for Tribal Insurance and maintain clearance throughout employment.
  • Must maintain licenses and insurance eligibility throughout employment.
  • Requires a negative TB test or obtain one within 90 days of hire.
  • Must submit to and successfully clear tribal, state, financial inquires and in-depth criminal inquiry for Federal adjudication as required to access the following systems such as Indian Trust System Query (ITSQ).
  • Must attend annual training certification for access and maintain clearance throughout employment.
  • Applicants must maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the duration of their employment with Social Services
  • Requires case management and protective services methods, techniques, and practices pertaining to elderly and disabled populations.
  • Requires knowledge of theories of human behavior and group dynamics.
  • Requires knowledge of methods and techniques used to conduct interviews and investigations.
  • Requires Methods and techniques used to appropriately intervene during routine or crisis situations involving victims of abuse.
  • Requires knowledge of safety/risk assessment techniques.
  • Requires knowledge of needs and problems of elders/disabled, dependents, and families from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Requires knowledge of community resources, community organizations, and health care systems.
  • Requires knowledge of Tribal, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Requires knowledge of reporting requirements and court procedures related to the elderly and dependent social services.
  • Requires excellent writing skills and be highly familiar with case management record keeping and documentations.
  • Requires knowledge of laws, codes, rules, and regulations of governing agencies.
  • Requires to have knowledge of budgets to process distribution plans.
  • Requires the ability to work cooperatively with families, professionals, community-based and other health care professionals.
  • Requires the ability to administer evaluations/assessments to determine the needs of the Social Services eligible client(s).
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively in writing to prepare reports, case summaries, and correspondence in an understandable, clear and concise manner.
  • Requires the ability to effectively assess diagnosis and apply intervention techniques when dealing with the elderly and family related problems.
  • Requires the ability to establish workload priorities to manage caseloads in the efficient, organized, and timely manner.
  • Requires the ability to apply professional social work methods to various situations.
  • Requires the ability to analyze a variety, use sound and logical reasoning, and exercise the proper authority when appropriate.
  • Requires the ability to assess the clients’ immediate needs and ensure clients’ receipt of needed services through personal service or making referral.
  • Requires the skill sets to perform the responsibilities of the position including delivery of therapeutic, advisory, and counseling services.
  • Requires the ability to identify crisis situations and provide intervention.
  • Requires the ability to conduct socio-environmental analysis and prepare social and family histories.
  • Requires to be able to design and develop behavioral and instructional objectives for students.
  • Requires to be able to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively.
  • Requires the ability to communicate in a professional manner, in both formal and informal settings clients.
  • Requires ability to operate a computer and work with various computer software.
  • Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
