The Social Worker will provide comprehensive support to students by addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs through interventions, collaboration with stakeholders, and resource coordination to foster their academic and personal growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in social work or related field with 1 year experience in health or human services.
  • Preferred to have or able to obtain one of the following: certified school counselor, licensed professional counselor, licensed social worker, licensed clinical social worker, or school psychologist.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
  • Familiarity with common social, emotional, and behavioral challenges faced by students.
  • Ability to handle a crisis and or potential risk situation and react appropriately.
  • A working knowledge of federal and state standards as well as regulating body and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs, including brief, solution-focused interventions.
  • Collaborate with students, families, teachers, and administrators to create and support Individualized Education Plans and comprehensive support strategies.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and connect them with appropriate services and resources.
  • Facilitate communication between the school, families, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support, including coordinating additional services and appointments.
  • Provide crisis intervention to address urgent mental health or safety concerns and support student well-being.
  • Create and deliver workshops or training sessions for students, parents, and staff on relevant topics, including bullying and substance abuse prevention.
  • Advocate for students' rights and mobilize school, family, and community resources to promote learning and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of student progress while promoting attendance and addressing challenges to student success.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information.
  • Complete all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
