About The Position

The Social Worker position at Amergis involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop Individualized Health Plans (IHP) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for students requiring social work intervention in a school setting. Requirements

• Master's Degree in counseling, education, or related field.
• Massachusetts Guidance Counselor License or LICSW.
• School-based experience.
• Bilingual preferred.

• Current CPR certification if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate as per contract or state regulation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop IHP/IEP for students requiring social work intervention.
• Provide individual and group counseling to students.
• Establish rules and procedures appropriate for a therapeutic setting.
• Design and develop individualized service plans based on IEPs.
• Transition students effectively between therapy and classroom settings.
• Plan interventions for inappropriate behaviors while maintaining student dignity.
• Engage students with positive feedback and reinforcement techniques.
• Interact effectively with students, family members, educational team members, and external professionals.
• Utilize community resources to promote student safety and welfare.
• Collaborate with educational support staff, student teachers, interns, and volunteers for student welfare.
• Adhere to Amergis and District policies and procedures.
