The incumbent in this position will serve as the Program Manager of the RRTP program at VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (VA NYHHS). The incumbent reports to the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) for Mental Health.
Responsible for direct service to patients and relatives, coordination with community health and welfare agencies, proposal and program development in areas of psychosocial need, and social work research and training.
Responsible for oversight of the day-to-day management and operational aspects of veterans who are referred for admission to the RRTP residential unit.
Providing direct clinical and programmatic supervision to GS-9/11 social workers and GS-12 supervisors/program coordinators within RRTP.
Completing annual performance evaluations for staff incumbent supervises. Participating in and providing input into performance appraisals of RRTP staff who do not report directly to the incumbent.
Developing and implementing Mental Health and RRTP practice guidelines to streamline operations and increase the likelihood of positive patient outcomes to Mental Health and RRTP interventions.
Overseeing and/or providing the coordination and assignment of RRTP/Mental Health staff during disasters and emergencies, when indicated.
Confers with program supervisors, provides feedback and control of the programs and provides effective supervision of work.
Reviews and evaluates Executive Committee minutes in order to develop action plans for issues relevant to RRTP and Mental Health.
Implementation, oversight and analysis of RRTP productivity standards.
Consultation with other Services, program managers, or care line managers on issues pertaining to ethics, ethical dilemmas in the delivery of care, and ethical issues within the larger organization.
