About The Position

As a member of the Emergency Department you will work at one of the top hospital-based social work department where your discipline is immensely respected. Work with and be a part of the multidisciplinary health care team in the Emergency Department (ED). You will participate in comprehensive evaluations, provide psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention as well as discharge planning to pediatric/adolescent patients and their families. This is a Monday-Friday Evenings (2 PM - 10 PM) shift with rotating weekend/holiday coverage.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW).
• New York State License as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW).

Nice To Haves

• Emergency Department experience.
• Experience in providing direct clinical services to patients and families.
• Crisis related experience.
• Experience providing trauma support to children/adolescents and their families in outpatient settings.
• Bereavement training/experience.
• Knowledge of child abuse (recognizing and reporting).
• Resource connection.
• Fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Participate in comprehensive evaluations of pediatric/adolescent patients.
• Provide psychosocial assessments to patients and their families.
• Conduct crisis intervention as needed.
• Assist in discharge planning for patients.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary health care team in the Emergency Department.
