Requirements

• MSW Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
• Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW or LCSW-C level.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing clinical social work service in an Oncology, palliative care, or Hospice Hospital setting.
• Experience with hospital discharge planning is a requirement.
• Must have Epic Experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in the psychological, social, emotional, financial and practical care domains.
• Knowledge of Oncology, Hospice and/or Palliative Care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment of child or adult outpatients, 18 years of age and older, who have a wide variety of psychiatric illnesses.
• Alleviate emotional distress and enable patients to live more satisfactorily in the community.
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop care plans and interventions based on the assessments.
• Coordinate care and discharge planning for patients.
• Identify regional/state/federal resources for patients.
• Provide crisis counseling and suicide assessment.
• Conduct short-term counseling and family meetings.
• Assist with end of life and advance care planning.
• Comfortably work in an oncology setting with seriously ill patients and families.
