About The Position

Saint Luke's is seeking a weekend Social Worker to assist patients in an acute care setting. Responsible and accountable for assessing the psychological social emotional cultural or financial needs that impact patient s health and recovery. To provide professional social work services that utilize supportive counseling and clinical knowledge in assessing the needs of patients and families during illness crisis intervention and post discharge planning. Collaborates with members of health care team in the development of a transition plan and addresses needs in a timely manner. Participates in program planning and development to meet the needs of customers within the health care system and community. Part time; Saturday & Sunday 8:00am-6:00pm; in-person Completes family therapy sessions with patients and their families. Participates in daily treatment team meetings. Provides psychoeducational group therapy sessions to patients. Assists with discharging planning, making referrals and assisting with transportation arrangements

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
  • Current Missouri Social Work license (LMSW or LCSW)
  • Applicable Experience: Less than 1 year
  • Licensed Masters Social Worker - Various
  • Master's Degree - Social Work

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer prior experience in a healthcare setting (i.e., hospital, home health or nursing home) but not required.
