About The Position

Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering health, education and human service programs to children, adults and families in Fairfield County. Our team includes 300 professionals and over 500 trained volunteers who collaborate to provide our communities with a wide range of responsive and innovative services. Through our comprehensive network of services, more than 26,000 children, adults, families and communities receive the care, encouragement and resources needed to realize their potential. The Role  Our School Based Health Centers (SBHC) Program is looking for licensed mental health practitioners with related experience to staff school-based outpatient clinics in Stamford, Connecticut. These are 10-month positions and are based on the approved public-school calendar. SBHC mental health clinicians provide health education (both large and small group instruction) and individual, family, and group counseling to students in middle and high schools, often working as part of interdisciplinary health care teams with nurse practitioners and health educators.   Full-time work schedule for the SBHC clinician positions is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-2:30pm.

Requirements

  • Completion of master’s or post-master’s degree from an accredited counseling program
  • Active licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LPCA, LMFT) in Connecticut, or the ability to obtain CT licensure
  • Strong clinical skills and experience using evidence-based models with children and families
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to relationship building, resource development, and creating equitable access
  • Ability to engage in therapeutic practices in accordance with all HIPAA, state, federal, licensing, and accrediting bodies
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with middle school and/or high school students and their families preferred
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural experience strongly preferred
