About The Position

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital has been providing psychiatric services to the Philadelphia area for more than 40 years. Located in Fort Washington, PA, our 146-bed facility provides a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness. Brooke Glen offers unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities, and our tenured leadership team includes a seasoned nursing department. The Social Worker PRN performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial assessment needs while enabling them to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. This includes providing basic consultations, teaching, and specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care. Crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, group therapy, the facilitation of interagency meetings, treatment planning, & discharge planning and the provision of referral information is also provided by Social Workers.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a psychiatric health care facility or equivalent.
  • Direct experience in individual, family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Successful completion of CPR/AED training.
  • Successful completion of Crisis Prevention (CPI) training including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint.

Responsibilities
