About The Position

Social Workers/Therapists are responsible for conducting therapeutic services for patients, interviewing and developing the psychological history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives, and treatment plan updates for patients. Therapists conduct family sessions prior to discharge. Social Workers/Therapists act as the patients’ and families’ primary contact during the patient’s stay at the facility, as well as their advocate with the treatment team. Social Workers/Therapists are also liaisons with outside agencies and individuals for the purpose of developing and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team and family. Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or other related fields
  • One (1) year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with adults, children and/or adolescents
  • Training in specialized issues or treatment modalities such as sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, and relaxation therapy
  • Knowledge of human development over the life span
  • Prefer license from the State of Georgia, such as LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LAPC, LPC
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques
  • Knowledge of clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics accurately
  • Ability to obtain and interpret information regarding child and adolescent needs
  • Understanding of growth and developmental stages for children and adolescents
