About The Position

Join our dynamic and collaborative transplant social work team at Mayo Clinic in Florida. In this position you will complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments, create individual transplant plans with patients and families, and provide counseling and education throughout the transplant episode of care. This position will rotate between all transplant organ teams. Additional Responsibilities include: Facilitating crisis intervention and short-term psychotherapy. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external support systems. Functioning as an interdisciplinary team member. This position includes specified billable patient contact hours dependent upon assigned unit/site. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) or Master of Science in Social Administration (MSSA) degree
  • Florida LCSW license to practice independently at the clinical level as required by applicable state requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of mental illness, personality development, and the types of treatment, and skills in conducting individual, group, and family therapy
  • Knowledge of adjustment to medical diagnosis and chronic disease
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, patients' family members, consultants, residents, hospital personnel, community agencies, and other resources
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
  • Psychosocial diagnostic skills

  • Internal candidates must also attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
  • Internal candidates who have not met their current department's 1- or 2-year commitment, must attach an early release from their current supervisor.
  • International Degrees A detailed equivalency evaluation is required, demonstrating a U.S. equivalent degree. Evaluation must be completed by an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) (www.naces.org) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) (www.aice-eval.org).
