About The Position
The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a patient-centered, team based multi-specialty practice located in central Brooklyn. BSFHC has been providing affordable, comprehensive, outpatient medical and dental services in an outpatient setting for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), BSFHC serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. Our mission is to provide the most professional, courteous and highest quality health care, with dignity, to those we serve, especially the undeserved population, without regard for ability to pay. We have an opportunity for a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or LCSW to provide quality, competent, safe and compassionate care based on established standards in a patient-focused preventative, treatment care and counseling. A PLUS - Knowledge of the DSM –V, understanding of psychosis, OCD, and Substance Use Disorder Counseling . Recovery oriented and trauma informed. Motivational Interviewing techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Behavioral Activation. Bilingual Spanish REQUIRED. Must be able to work onsite and every other Saturday.
Requirements
- LMSW/LCSW
- 2 years experience needed for LMSW
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues
Nice To Haves
- Experience/An understanding of eClinical Works is helpful.
- The ability to demonstrate teamwork and effective interpersonal relations skills is imperative.
- Excellent written/oral communication and computer skills are required.
- Ability to foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team and clients
