About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking a Full Time Social Worker to work in the agency’s Department of Family and Clinical Services. The Department of Family and Clinical Services operates two primary outpatient clinics, one in Manhattan and one in the Bronx, which provide services at satellite locations and telehealth throughout the five boroughs. Our team is comprised of psychologists, social workers, and rehab service professionals who have a passion for their work. Under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, the Social Worker will provide psychosocial assessment and psychotherapy treatment for the Developmental Disabilities population. Psychotherapy is provided for persons with Developmental Disabilities who have a co-occurring psychiatric condition. Psychotherapy is conducted with diverse clients across their lifespans, including children/adolescents, adults, families, and groups. Collateral counseling is provided for their families. Behavioral, CBT, Psychodynamic, Systemic, and DBT techniques are used.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (MSW/LCSW) or equivalent in Social Work from an accredited university program required.
  • Must be current New York State Certified Social Worker.
  • Work experience with people with developmental disabilities highly desirable.
  • Experience in providing psychotherapy to treat DSM-V diagnoses.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to coordinate needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to make decisions independently and to react to unanticipated events in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility to operate in a rapidly-changing work environment.
  • Must be willing to travel within the five boroughs of New York City.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License a plus.
