Position Overview: Community High School District 218 is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Social Work Intern to join our team. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in a school setting, working directly with students, families, and school staff to support academic success and social-emotional well-being.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
• Completion of foundational coursework in social work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a school setting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with youth or educational settings is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students under supervision.
• Assist in developing and implementing intervention plans to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Conduct needs assessments and connect students and families with appropriate community resources.
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
• Maintain detailed and confidential records in compliance with district and state guidelines.
• Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution efforts as needed.
• Engage in outreach efforts to enhance family and community engagement.
