Duties Provide support and interventions for students Lead individual mental health sessions and student support groups that utilize evidence-based treatments for issues impacting educational and social success Assist and support students with IEPs and 504s Participate on departmental or school-wide teams, such as RtI, PBS, and intervention teams Provide social skills training individually, in small groups, or on a school-wide basis Serve as a liaison between students, home, school, family service providers, courts, protective services, doctors, and other contacts to help families access needed services Stay current with developments in social and emotional learning Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards for the practice of the discipline in schools, as dictated by associated organizations, e.g., IDFPR, NASW, IASSW Maintain and update accurate records as required by the State, District, and Building Administration Attend required meetings and events Exhibit excellent communication, technology, organization, and interpersonal skills Incorporate the Six Pillars of Character Counts: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Necessary course work completed to be eligible for internship Ability to communicate (written/verbal), make decisions, resolve conflict, and effectively work with staff, students, and Administration
