Social Worker - Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (Per Diem)
About The Position
Under the leadership of the department director of Behavioral Health Services and the assistant director of Garden Pavilion, the social worker is responsible for completing psychosocial assessments and participating in ongoing treatment planning for patients on the acute psychiatric inpatient unit. The social worker is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team responsible for planning and implementing a program of group and individual treatment modalities including discharge. Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making ability and ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work required.
- Current license to practice in the State of California, Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW).
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
- CHOMP provided de-escalation training must be completed within 6 months of hire.
- Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment and pass all annual competencies.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making ability and ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Nice To Haves
- Actively obtaining hours towards Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
- Experience in an acute care hospital or inpatient psychiatric unit and knowledge of community resources are preferred.
