About The Position

The Social Worker III position is responsible for managing a caseload of complex social services cases, primarily within child welfare and adult service programs. This role involves conducting assessments, developing service plans, and advocating for clients to ensure they receive the necessary support and resources. The position requires a high degree of technical competence and independence in evaluating client needs and implementing appropriate interventions. Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • One year of full-time experience performing journey level social work case management, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 30 semester units in social welfare or related areas, plus two years of social work case management experience.
  • Completion of a master's degree program in social work or counseling may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with clients and family members to assess their social, physical, and mental needs.
  • Perform case studies and evaluate individual and family case information to assess safety.
  • Investigate reports of suspected abuse/neglect and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with legal standards and County regulations.
  • Develop culturally sensitive service plans for clients.
  • Refer clients to community resources for additional services and support.
  • Advocate for clients to access appropriate services and resources.
  • Interpret agency policies and regulations to clients and applicants.
  • Make home visits related to casework assignments.
  • Prepare and maintain case records and databases, including court reports and service plans.
  • Coordinate and monitor family visitations to assess progress toward case goals.
  • Participate in training and staff development activities to enhance social work practices.
  • Facilitate a team of professionals working with clients to achieve goals.
  • Provide community outreach for agency programs.
  • Counsel individuals and families with complex needs, including crisis intervention and legal issues.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $62,816.00 - $76,377.60 annually.
  • Covered under Social Security and the 1937 act retirement plan.
