About The Position

This job posting is for the second level, social worker position within the Hawaii State Judiciary. Social Workers with the Judiciary contribute to public welfare and safety, working in various programs throughout the courts. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree including a minimum of twelve semester credit hours in relevant courses.
  • One-half year of progressively responsible professional social work experience.
  • Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex written material.
  • Ability to solve complex problems logically and systematically.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work or Criminal Justice Administration qualifies for Social Worker II.
  • A master's degree in Social Work or Criminal Justice Administration qualifies for Social Worker III.
  • A Ph.D. in Social Work or Criminal Justice Administration qualifies for Social Worker IV.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise juvenile law violators and adult law violators.
  • Conduct child custody and visitation evaluations.
  • Assist protection order petitioners.
  • Engage with families and communities in juvenile cases.
  • Investigate and determine services needed by clients and families.
  • Prepare case records and reports.
  • Implement approved treatment plans.
