About The Position

The Clinical Lead will assist the Director of Social Services in overseeing Associate Clinicians who are accruing supervised clinical hours toward Social Work licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). The Clinical Lead will also provide high-quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to adult psychiatric patients and their families, spouses, or significant others. The Clinical Lead will actively participate in the multi-disciplinary treatment team to support program philosophy, deliver quality psychotherapeutic services to psychiatric patients and families, while prioritizing patient safety and well-being.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification for Healthcare Providers - American Heart Association
  • Possession of a current, active, and unrestricted California license in good standing (not under suspension or probation) as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Knowledge of acute adult psychological disorders
  • Knowledge of acute adolescent psychological disorders
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the mental health field required.
  • Skills in case management, time management, and crisis intervention common to acute psychotic, serious mental health and non-violent crises intervention practice.

Responsibilities

  • Providing individual and group clinical supervision to Social Services staff under a BBS supervision agreement and interns as they collect school internship hours.
  • Provides clinical insight and feedback to Social Services Department interns and aids in their development. Supports interns with co-facilitating group therapy sessions.
  • Conducts psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patients and their family members.
  • Provides group and family process-oriented therapies as well as conducts educational and other didactic groups for patients and family members using various professional treatment modalities.
  • Attends regular treatment team meetings as needed to provide the social work perspective to total interdisciplinary team.
  • Coordinates with case managers to impart pertinent information on cases garnered by pt. interaction in groups, during PSA’s or individual interactions.
  • Conducts 1:1 pt check ins and participates in creation and review of treatment plan updates and goal setting with pt., as needed.
  • Reports to community/state agencies any patient issues as required by law for mandated reporting.
  • Provides backup service for incoming assessment and referral calls.
  • Utilizes trauma informed care approach to assist with pt. de-escalation and crisis intervention, as needed.
  • Demonstrating conduct in keeping with NASW, Joint Commission, CMS and Aurora ethical standards.
  • Complying with facility safety, infection control and security program.
  • Participating in activities, which enhance professional growth and development.
  • Assists Director of Social Services with special assignments, as needed.
  • Participating in staff hiring and evaluations.
  • Provide Supervision to a select number of employees in need of qualifying hours
