About The Position

The Social Worker position at Good Samaritan Society involves providing supportive services and counseling related to healthcare and home care programs. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited curriculum.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW) in the relevant state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment, if required.
• Healthcare and/or mental health hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of human behavior and developmental stages.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in crisis intervention and behavioral health settings.
• Multi-state licensure privilege may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive services and counseling on healthcare and home care programs.
• Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team to address social, emotional, and economic concerns of patients and families.
• Conduct crisis intervention and assist families in understanding medical complexities.
• Coordinate healthcare programs among patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Develop appropriate care plans by obtaining resources from social, health, and human services agencies.
• Provide referrals and education regarding available programs and services.
• Participate in care conferences and transitional rounding as an advocate for patients.
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
