About The Position

The Education and Enablement Social Worker (EE-SW) plays a crucial role in upholding Thyme Care’s high-quality standards by providing training and education to current and new oncology and clinical social workers. This position reports to the Director of Quality, Training and Enablement and involves developing and delivering comprehensive training programs, advanced learning modules, and ongoing support to ensure social workers understand their role in the program and continuously grow in their skills. This role also serves as a subject matter expert and collaborates with clinical leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance our psychosocial support offerings and integrate best practices in oncology social work, case management, and care navigation. Although primarily focused on training, this role will also support Quality Assurance efforts to include conducting audits, coaching sessions, and working alongside clinical leaders to align with evolving business needs. This role will: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs by role type, for the social work team and new hires, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines. Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with organizational policies, procedures, and systems Provide hands-on training and shadowing opportunities to ensure new hires gain practical experience. Provide ongoing advance training and support to the clinical social work team to enhance their care management skills and knowledge Evaluate new hire training effectiveness, and provide PIP support, through audits of telephonic social work interactions with members, in addition to supporting documentation, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and value-added interactions that drive positive health outcomes. Create individualized training plans, coaching sessions, and feedback for new hires and social work team members, based on identified training gaps and audit findings. Conduct check-in sessions with Team Leads/Managers/ Director to evaluate training effectiveness, gaps. and areas for improvement. Support the creation and maintenance of clinical training materials, job aids, and other educational resources. Conduct/Support new hire ramp-up auditing and feedback sessions as required. Requirements

  • Master’s in Social Work (MSW) required; LCSW license required. LCSW-S preferred
  • At least 3 years of direct experience in oncology or palliative care social work.
  • Current or ability to provide documentation of previous Certifications: Certified Oncology Social Worker (OSW-C), Certified Advance Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker (APHSW-C)
  • Experience with coaching, auditing, or training social work or interdisciplinary care teams preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Technologically fluent—proficient in healthcare systems, remote communication tools (Google Suite, Slack), and EHRs.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in using healthcare information systems and educational technology

  • A LMSW. You must have a Master's in Social Work (MSW) and an unrestricted Social Work license and willingness to obtain additional state licenses, as needed.
  • Proven track record: Functioning in roles that focused on assuring high-quality care, strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Proficiency in auditing, providing feedback and coaching to Social Workers and/or other clinical team members, and developing or contributing to clinical onboarding and training programs.
