About The Position

The Social Worker in the Early Intervention Program is responsible for providing developmental assessments, consultations, and therapies to children and families. This role focuses on supporting children from birth to age three who may have disabilities or developmental delays, ensuring they receive appropriate early intervention services through a collaborative approach with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Workers.
• Experience working with children under the age of 5.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Recognition of importance of and respect for confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assess development and clinical needs of clients in social emotional development, family systems, and overall infant toddler maturation.
• Develop a clinical plan of action for clients using early intervention assessment tools and evidence-based best practices.
• Provide early intervention services by coaching caregivers on effective strategies for teaching their child and modeling appropriate methods as needed.
• Maintain safety, health, and medical standards according to agency policy.
• Communicate appropriately with physicians, clinics, and community agencies involved in the child's care and family's service.
• Coordinate information on community resources available to families and assist them in obtaining these resources.
