About The Position

We are looking for dedicated Social Workers for inpatient case management. Under the supervision of a social worker, you will conduct diagnostic assessments, determine clinical interventions, facilitate crisis intervention and psychotherapy, and provide education for patients and their families. You will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team in that collaborates to develop and implement treatment and transition plans. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEMP OPT extension program.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Advanced knowledge of mental illness, personality development, knowledge of the types of treatment, and skills in conducting individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Knowledge of adjustment to medical diagnosis and chronic disease.
  • Strong human relation skills to interact with patients, patient's family members, consultants, residents, hospital personnel, community agencies, and other resources.
  • Psychosocial diagnostic skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and in written form.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Internal candidates must also attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
  • Internal candidates who have not met their current department's 1- or 2-year commitment, must attach an early release from their current supervisor.
  • International Degrees: A detailed equivalency evaluation is required, demonstrating a U.S. equivalent degree. Evaluation must be completed by an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) (www.naces.org) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) (www.aice-eval.org).
