About The Position

Requirements

• Current license as an independent social worker (LISW) issued by the State of Ohio.
• Experience in mental health and behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the status of individuals waiting for an RPH bed after a court order.
• Collaborate with jail mental health staff to assess changes in inmate acuity.
• Physically visit jails to engage with inmates awaiting RPH beds.
• Act as a liaison between jail mental health staff and the RPH.
• Participate in establishing and directing social service programs and treatment objectives.
• Develop and design treatment intervention techniques and procedures.
• Evaluate and modify treatment systems based on patient progress.
• Assess inmate progress towards competency restoration and administer competency screening tools.
• Notify team and jail mental health staff of imminent risks to inmates.
• Maintain documentation to satisfy federal, state, and local agency requirements.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with facilities, agencies, and support services.
• Attend training sessions and department meetings.
