This position provides system leadership and supervision to the Social Work department, including oversight and coordination of services to ensure consistency with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's mission and vision. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

  • Coordinates the ongoing process of social work service delivery to patients and families, incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
  • Provides back-up clinical care to patients and families to assist with caseload management.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and accountability by overseeing budget preparation and monthly budget oversight for cost center and donor funds.
  • Manages the performance and utilization of staff for effective and efficient services.
  • Participates in the performance improvement process for the department, including responsibility for accreditation readiness.
  • Supervises and coordinates social work student education.
  • Participates in professional development activities for direct and indirect reports.
  • Manages daily operations of the Social Work program for the system.
  • Five years of experience in postgraduate social work
  • Practiced at least 2,000 clock hours over a minimum of two years following clinical social work licensure
  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited graduate school
  • Georgia Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to work as part of interdisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate treatment and practice
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Three years of experience in a pediatric medical setting
