About The Position

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet effectively.
  • Experience in interviewing skills and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, plan, and supervise a unit of social workers conducting child abuse assessments and child welfare services.
  • Coordinate and implement goals and objectives to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision to ensure the safety of children.
  • Communicate and adhere to current policies and procedures affecting the work.
  • Assign work to ensure efficiency in service delivery and equitable workload.
  • Approve travel claims, payroll, leave requests, and other personnel functions.
  • Monitor work schedules and manage overtime allocations.
  • Conduct regular individual supervisory conferences and performance evaluations.
  • Review and approve all legal documents prior to submission to ensure compliance with Iowa Code.
  • Conduct case record reviews to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Utilize technological resources to monitor, track, and direct workflow.
  • Respond to customer and employee inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources.
  • Be available for after-hours case consultation and crisis resolution on a rotating basis.
