The Social Work Supervisor I plans, assigns, and directs the work of social workers and technical support staff who are engaged in providing social casework services such as complex adult protective services cases, conservatorship, adoptions, care management for frail elders and adults with disabilities, foster home and institutional placements, and children's protective services. They oversee child safety and meet legal mandates, perform complex case consultations, ensure corrective action procedures are developed and implemented, and provide instruction on policies and procedures concerning eligibility for and delivery of public social services. We are looking for someone who: Is compassionate and will treat all clients with dignity and respect Can communicate effectively and collaborate with professional partners and clients from diverse racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds Can meet work timelines and demands

  • Overseeing documentation of project activity, data collection and reporting
  • Overseeing staff and ensuring that desired outcomes are being met
  • Providing data and reports on the status of staff productivity
  • Conducting individual conferences with social caseworkers to discuss case problems
  • Attending committee meetings to ensure the improvement of services
  • Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's License. Out of State valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will be accepted during the application process.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social welfare, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent social casework experience in a public or private human services agency responsible for providing social services to adult, family and/or children.
