About The Position

THIS IS A TIME - LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 2 YEARS . UNC Horizons seeks a Community-Based Justice & Recovery Therapist to provide gender-responsive and trauma-informed behavioral health interventions for pregnant, parenting, and single women with substance use disorders, trauma histories, and justice-system involvement in Wake County. This position serves as the primary point of contact for justice-involved agencies across Wake County and surrounding counties, ensuring timely access to substance use disorder screening, assessment, and intervention services. As a core member of an interdisciplinary team, the therapist functions as the lead clinician to initiate community-based SUD and justice-involved programming. Responsibilities include supporting clinical referral coverage, overseeing timely clinical recommendations, facilitating access to treatment and supportive services, supervising paraprofessionals embedded within the team, and ensuring coordinated and effective care pathways for justice-involved women and their families. This role requires close collaboration with legal partners, child welfare agencies, community-based organizations, and medical and psychiatric providers to promote continuity of care, pre-release SUD treatment engagement, reentry stabilization, and sustained recovery outcomes. Work Schedule Monday – Friday 9 am – 6 pm
