About The Position

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SOCIAL WORK (COUNSELING) INTERN! Your Work Matters How will you make a difference? Social Work (Counseling) interns are responsible for: Completing clinical or psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and skills-based groups with geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Assisting masters level clinicians with obtaining information to determine level of care and initiating admission to inpatient or outpatient services. Aiding program therapists with scheduling aftercare appointments and social service supports. Participating in assigned activities that support the function of the social services, outpatient, and intake departments.

Requirements

  • Education & Licensure: Enrolled in 2nd year MSW or accredited counseling/psychology program at an approved school. Must be in an LPC or LSW eligible program.
  • Social work and counseling interns are expected to be on-site 3 days per week as scheduled by assigned program.
  • Internship opportunities begin in August and May.
  • Interns must be willing to commit to interning for at least 2 full semesters.
  • Interns are expected to be on site during school breaks.
  • Must be able to attend 2 week Monday through Friday, on site orientation and training prior to starting their internship.
  • Must also be able to pass a competency exam and evaluation.
