Requirements

  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in crisis situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with both team members and external partners.
  • Working knowledge of, or strong desire to learn about, trauma experienced by survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Nice To Haves

  • Speak Spanish and have an interest in working with diverse populations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, virtual, and telephone crisis intervention for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
  • Assist survivors in creating survivor-directed action plans , which may include filing protective orders, making police reports, attending court, and securing housing, employment, or financial assistance.
  • Support survivors during hospital forensic exams , offering emotional advocacy and assistance during a highly vulnerable time.
  • Foster strong connections and collaborations with community resources and professionals.
  • Educate survivors about the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Assist survivors in developing safety plans and completing danger assessments .
  • Maintain a client caseload, regularly following up to assess progress and address additional needs.
  • Collaborate with and support other case management team members, providing feedback and assistance to best serve survivors.
  • Represent CAPSA at community events and outreach activities to increase awareness of services for underserved populations and strengthen community partnerships.
  • Complete accurate and timely case documentation .
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of CAPSA.
