About The Position

Join our compassionate, mission‑driven team in beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, where educators play a vital role in transforming the lives of students ages 9–18 who are healing from early trauma and attachment challenges. At Calo, you’ll work in small classroom environments (up to 12 students) with the support needed to deliver individualized instruction that nurtures confidence, resilience, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Valid Missouri teaching certification
• Must hold Middle School Social Science (5–9) or Secondary Social Science (9–12) certification (DESE‑aligned)
• Ability to pass state/federal background checks and drug screening
• Must be 21 years or older

Nice To Haves

• Special Education certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience serving students with academic gaps and behavioral challenges
• Strong understanding of how behavioral and emotional needs impact learning
• Excellent communication skills and strengths in small‑group or individualized instruction
• Adaptable, patient, collaborative, and student‑centered educator

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, differentiated Social Studies instruction tailored to student needs
• Provide academic tools and supports to bridge learning gaps
• Model patience, structure, and positive reinforcement
• Foster a safe, consistent, and emotionally attuned learning environment
• Implement effective behavioral and classroom management strategies
• Partner closely with clinicians, teachers, and direct care staff
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and state requirements
• Ensure compliance with state academic standards, DESE expectations, and internal policies
