About The Position

The Social Services Supervisor/Expert is responsible for overseeing social service programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal policies, and providing guidance to staff. This role involves strategic planning, program evaluation, and supervision of case management to improve service delivery and client outcomes. The Supervisor/Expert serves as a subject-matter authority in social work practices, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. The supervisor is expected to: Prioritize activities and deadlines for themselves and their subordinates, review/monitor work performance, and follow and enforce policies and procedures. Adhere to strict time frames; review reports, ensure the delivery of services which follow policy and law. Coordinate with other agencies for services. Conduct presentations to organizations (when needed); review and approve workers' travel, TDM's/Protection Plans, and CHRIS work; prep for court. Fill in during times of non-availability and staffing shortages; other duties as assigned. This position will be on-call, with extensive in-state travel; work outside of the normal business hours of 8 AM - 5:00 PM and must be able to lift 50 pounds. Primary Responsibilities The assignment of supervisory duties is determined by the hiring agency's operational needs. Non-supervisory roles will serve as senior technical experts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of work experience in human services programs or public service work, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Required to have a background check and child/adult maltreatment registry check.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years of experience in a child welfare or human service program.
  • Experience with community engagement or community resources, public speaking, Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organizational skills are a must.
