About The Position

This position is responsible for board/review preview assistance, approving and troubleshooting childcare vouchers approximately 250+ each month. AFCARS, which State and Tribal title IV-E agencies are required to report. (AFCARS case-level information on all children in foster care and children who have been adopted with title IV-E agency involvement. Specifically, the data includes information about children who enter foster care, their entries and exits, placement details, and foster/adoptive parent information.). Head start recruitment with ECE, processing and maintaining volunteer applications and renewals, which average about 8-20 per month for new volunteers, which also consists of processing background checks and completing references. Dolly Imagination Library registration for foster children, manage provider portal inbox, statewide internal audit review, and maintaining and updating overdue IV-E reports. The Social Services Specialist provides case management, client advocacy, and program support for individuals and families in need. This role requires assessing client needs, connecting individuals to community resources, and maintaining compliance with social services policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of work experience in human services programs or public service.
  • Required to have a background check and child/adult maltreatment registry check.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Knowledge of Arkansas social service laws, policies, and regulations
  • Ability to analyze client needs and create action plans
  • Understanding of behavioral health and protective services

Nice To Haves

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks such as provider communications, audit support, and maintaining reports.
  • Comfortable working with data systems and committed to providing efficient, accurate support to children, families, and service providers.
  • Computer experience is preferred.
