About The Position

The Social Services Manager at The Salvation Army in Missoula, Montana, is responsible for administering various programs aimed at meeting the physical, social, and spiritual needs of clients. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BA in Social Work or a related field; MSW preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Social Work or a related field.
  • Ability to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of clients.
  • Collaborative experience with local social service agencies.
  • Effective communication skills with a diverse client population.
  • Understanding and willingness to abide by The Salvation Army's mission and policies.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of community resources and representation of The Salvation Army.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Valid Montana State Driver's license and ability to pass TSA MVR check.
  • Basic computer knowledge including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Administer programs such as Christmas, Social Services, Pathway of Hope, and Volunteers.
  • Handle inquiries for assistance and oversee the disbursement of financial and material assistance.
  • Conduct basic problem-solving casework and client referrals.
  • Create and maintain records of cases and clients.
  • Develop inter-agency relationships with other social service agencies.
  • Order, disburse, and maintain food inventories from various sources.
  • Answer and respond to all telephone calls and emails.
  • Interview and screen clients seeking assistance, making appointments as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate client files and records, including statistical data.
  • Monitor the financial status of all social service programs and complete monthly reports.
  • Coordinate seasonal assistance programs and assist with community projects.
  • Develop funding sources and write grants for program support.
  • Supervise volunteers involved in food distribution and assistance programs.
  • Assist with client assessments and case management services.
