About The Position

The Social Services Consultant at Benedictine is responsible for providing support to social service departments, leading quarterly calls, and consulting on issues impacting resident care and regulatory compliance. This role involves training new associates, maintaining professional relationships, and ensuring quality social services are delivered to residents.

Requirements

  • Current state LSW licensure in good standing.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of social service experience in long-term care.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for team interaction.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to mentor personnel for competent patient care.
  • Supervisory experience for new LSW's licensure requirements.
  • Good customer service and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and time effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards governing long-term care.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting long-term care reimbursement.
  • Experience with the geriatric population.
  • Knowledge of medical settings and terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to social service departments as needed.
  • Lead quarterly social services calls and provide education on identified needs.
  • Consult on areas impacting resident care, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the education and training of new associates on social services standards and practices.
  • Respond to consultation requests from the VP, Clinical Services and Performance Excellence.
  • Support direct care services through training, education, and quality assurance.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with clinical services group members.
  • Advise Social Services associates on investigations and allegations of abuse or mistreatment.
  • Conduct or coordinate new associate training and orientation.
  • Assist in regulatory compliance through policy and protocol review.
  • Develop, maintain, and update Social Services policies and procedures.
  • Implement the Benedictine Quality Assurance program in the Social Services department.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
  • Promote the Benedictine Mission and Core Values in daily activities.
