The Social Services Assistant provides supportive services to social workers, case managers, and clients. This role assists with administrative tasks, outreach efforts, and client referrals to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. The position involves teaching and demonstrating living skills to clients, such as budgeting, cooking, menu planning, housekeeping, and childcare. The assistant also transports clients and/or family members for medical, dental, educational, and counseling appointments, sometimes using their personal vehicle. Additionally, the role includes aiding clients in locating resources by contacting organizations or agencies for assistance, assisting with developing and monitoring behavior plans, and participating in training clients in employment skills. The assistant is responsible for scheduling, monitoring, and documenting family visits, performing clerical duties, and attending mandatory training. The Social Services Assistant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have an AR driver’s license, maintain auto insurance, and be willing to drive long distances during the day and night hours.
