About The Position

This position is a federal role that requires candidates to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the job. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations. Candidates must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in each position held, along with the total number of hours worked per week.

Requirements

• At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience performing therapeutic work and patient care tasks.
• One full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position.
• Certification or licensure as a psychiatric technician.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, nursing fundamentals, nutrition, pharmacology, psychiatric diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and psychotropic medications.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of therapies, including small group therapy, one-to-one therapy, and large group therapy using standardized therapeutic resident care.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take vital signs.
• Monitor patients' behavioral and mental conditions.
• Admit and discharge patients.
