About The Position

A Non-Merit vacancy exists in Family Services, Department of Health and Human Services. The role of Interagency Family Preservation (IFP) Family Support Worker is to support and assist the IFP Social Worker in the delivery of short-term, intensive, clinical and concrete services to families referred to the Program. This position involves working closely with families at risk of out-of-home placement, providing in-home intervention services, and linking families to community resources.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Experience working in the field of human services.

Responsibilities

• Support the IFP Social Worker in delivering intensive in-home intervention services.
• Assist in family interviews and gather pertinent background information.
• Identify family members and community resources, recording them in contact notes.
• Assist families in identifying and linking to community resources.
• Meet regularly with the IFP Social Worker and treatment team members.
• Respond to emergencies or crisis situations promptly.
• Provide intensive in-home services to families and children at risk.
• Serve as a liaison connecting families to community services.
• Advocate, teach, coach, and model life skills to families.
• Provide transportation as needed.
• Assess needs for emergencies and arrange for services.
• Attend and testify in court as needed.
• Complete all required paperwork for each family.
• Maintain confidentiality of all client records.
• Report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect.
• Follow directions and assignments from the supervisor.
• Coordinate services with community providers.
