About The Position

The Full-Time Social Service Counselor position involves providing essential support and supervision to consumers during overnight shifts. The role includes assisting consumers with their daily living skills, observing medication administration, and facilitating various social and therapeutic activities. The counselor will also utilize crisis intervention skills as necessary to ensure the well-being of the consumers.

Requirements

• BSW in social work, BA/BS in psychology, criminal justice, sociology, or a related field
• BA in an unrelated field with two years of previous experience
• AA in a related field with two years of previous experience
• Previous experience desired
• Valid New Jersey driver's license

Responsibilities

• Provides consumers with daily supervision, supportive counseling, and assistance with their activities of daily living skills
• Observes consumer self-administer their prescribed medication and provides daily medication education
• Facilitates social, recreational, and therapeutic activities with consumers
• Utilizes crisis intervention skills as required
