About The Position

The Social Service Coordinator oversees the daily operations of social service programs designed to support individuals and families in achieving stability and self-sufficiency. This role ensures services are delivered effectively and in compliance with organizational policies and funding requirements, while providing supervision and guidance to program staff. Serving as a liaison between clients, community partners, and internal departments, the coordinator promotes a client-centered approach, supports crisis intervention and case management efforts, and ensures accurate documentation and reporting. In a fast-paced nonprofit environment, this position fosters professionalism, accountability, and continuous program improvement aligned with the organization’s mission.

Requirements

  • CA Driver’s License. (Required)
  • High school or G.E.D. (Required)
  • Office and Social Service Experience (Required)
  • Computer experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office database programs. (Required)
  • Good writing, spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills, and the ability to understand, follow and receive oral and written instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise sound judgment in an emergency situation when Corps Officers are not available.
  • Oversee all financial and business matters with the responsibility of making sure these reports are sent to the various departments at DHQ, following Corps Officers approval.
  • Prepare and take deposits for corps and thrift store and process accounting reports that go along with it.
  • Prepare monthly reports for different programs at the Corps.
  • Prepare monthly statistical reports for DHQ, in the absence of the Corps Officer.
  • Prepare financial and GIK donation reports.
  • Assist with organizing, preparing and supporting, community, council, and board meetings.
  • Assist with all tasks deemed necessary for the overall operation of Corps and thrift store, as assigned by the Corps Officers.
  • Primary oversight of all Social Services client assistance including utility, clothing and food assistances with data entry into WellSky and Oasis databases.
  • Responsible for all food pantry inventory.
  • Assist with Holiday Seasonal Programs
  • Oversee Volunteer Paperwork, upkeep of files and volunteer activity.
  • Prepare and submit Food Bank Reports.
  • Upkeep of Community Information bulletin board
  • Attend staff meetings, advisory board meetings, and travel for special conferences and trainings
  • Provide support for special community events
  • Other related duties as required
